Promotional Flyer

Chris(t): Free Will and Love in Vincent Ward’s What Dreams May Come and Dante’s Divine Comedy
This literary analysis served as my final essay for an advanced literature class on Dante's Divine Comedy in fall 2023. It concerns, as the title suggests, how the film adaptation What Dreams May Come (1998) compares to the Comedy with regard to the topic of free will and love.

One War, Two Stories: Arturo Barea, George Orwell, and the Spanish Civil War
This is my undergraduate Honors thesis, defended with the highest distinction in April 2024. It analyzes two different literary portrayals of the Spanish Civil War.

¿Qué hace a un héroe? (What Makes a Hero?)
This is the final essay of my fall 2022 Novela Contemporánea (Contemporary Novel) course in Madrid, Spain. The essay, written in Spanish, considers what qualities heroes canonically have and analyzes how the main character of a historical fiction, Paco el del Molino, fits that description.
